The History of the Chiminea (also called chimenea)
Chimineas originated in Mexico possibly a few hundred years ago, some people estimate these were in use for thousands of years, these were used by tribesmen to keep their families warm, but also a means of cooking, the design of the chiminea protects the fire from the rain, very little fuel can be used to get a strong focused heat.
Pinewood is commonly burned in chimineas due to its ability to repel insects, as well as its beautiful scent.
