Designed for Outdoor Living

The Cotswold Bench works equally well in traditional and contemporary outdoor spaces and can be positioned on patios, lawns, terraces, beside pathways or in a quiet corner of the garden.

The slatted seat and back allow rainwater to drain naturally, while the substantial hardwood construction provides a sturdy seating solution for regular outdoor use.

Natural Weathering

The oiled acacia timber starts with a warm golden-brown appearance. As with all natural outdoor hardwood, exposure to sunlight and weather will gradually change the colour of the wood.

Regular treatment will help retain the original colour for longer, while untreated timber will naturally develop a more weathered silver-grey appearance over time.

Delivery and Returns Information

Delivery is charged on a per item basis. If you are purchasing multiple products in one transaction you will only be charged one delivery rate. This rate will be calculated on our checkout page. Parcels will be packaged separately where possible to reduce the chance of damage.

We aim to deliver within a few working days if the item is in stock. If for any unforeseen reason an item is out of stock we will call you with similar product options or a revised expected delivery date, or to arrange a refund if necessary. Certain items are drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer. If this is the case for your order, you will be informed before delivery.

Deliveries of most large items to Co. Dublin, Co. Meath, Co. Kildare & Co. Wicklow will be done by Outdoor Living drivers. Delivery of smaller items to these areas will be done by Fastway or An Post. Deliveries of large items to the rest of Ireland and to Northern Ireland will be done by Independent couriers. Your delivery method will be confirmed via email or phone before delivery.

If an item is on Pre-Order we will show the date that we expect this item to be back in stock in our warehouse. Our forecasted delivery window will begin from the date that the item is accepted into our Warehouse.

Acacia is a durable natural hardwood, but regular care will help keep your Alexander Rose Cotswold Bench looking its best for longer.

Clean the timber periodically using a soft cloth or brush with mild soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning products and pressure washing, as these can damage the surface and protective finish of the wood.

Alexander Rose recommends treating Cotswold furniture annually with a suitable timber treatment to nourish the wood and help maintain its original warm colour for longer.

If left untreated, the acacia will naturally weather as it is exposed to sunlight and the elements, gradually developing a silver-grey appearance. This is a normal characteristic of outdoor hardwood rather than a defect.

Check the bench periodically and tighten any screws or bolts that may have loosened through normal use or the natural movement of the timber.

A suitable breathable furniture cover can also help reduce exposure to dirt and prolonged poor weather when the bench is not in use. Allow the furniture to dry before covering it and ensure air can circulate around the timber.

As acacia is a natural material, variations in grain and colour, minor surface checking and small amounts of movement may occur as the timber responds to changing weather conditions. These are normal characteristics of real wood.
